We have a recovery center for women struggling with addictions. Samaria House is its name. Our vision is to provide a facility to be able to hold many women, but at this point we only have one house and can only hold up to 6 ladies at a time. And as of right now, we have a waiting list that's continuing to grow of women who so desperately want help to get better. Our recovery home is totally Christian based, and we strongly believe that recovery requires submitting to a power who we identify as Jesus Christ. Our ministry solely relies on donations. So our prayer today is that people, including their businesses and churches, would jump on board with our vision, and begin to help financially. We would love to see our facility be expanded. We believe that God is a God who provides, and that he will supply every need according to his riches in glory. Thank you so much for your prayers today. She took SAT and was offered admission to all university of her choice. All of a sudden .we heard that College Board cancelled the result s for her centre because it is claimed that security was not tight at her centre. I have gone before the peoplle of God to testify that God got her admitted with scholarship. I have done thanksgiving in the midst of the congregation. I am a pastor. I know that she did the exam herself. Because of the name of the Lord and because His word says the blessings f God maketh rich without adding sorrow. I had not led my family towards the Lord and it ultimately cost me my marriage through divorce. I have learned a lot since August. I know the Lord is speaking to me as hard headed as I might be. I was visited by the Holy Spirit the week after I accepted Christ as my savior. In that experience, one of the things he told me is that my wife and I would be together again and to tell her about the experience. He also said to tell her that she was praying in the wrong direction and that any relationship she or I had would fail. This has been true so far for both of us. We do have an eleven yr old daughter between us. I live in Tennessee and they live in Indiana where we all lived until the divorce two and a half yers ago. I have not lost the faith that we will be together again. I think there is more that the Lord wants us both to learn before that can happen. Too many things happen to me that shows that the Lord is there and watching over me. I pray almost every day and every night that the Lord would put my family back together. I understand he has already planned all this out. My prayer request is to pray for me that I can keep the faith and believe in what the Lord can do. To pray for my wife that she can see what the Lord is wanting her to learn as I have and that she could experience the Holy Spirit to come into her. I thank God that I just got baptized, which puts my relationship with Him up to a higher level, and have been doing better academically in school as well. I believe I have the calling to become a lawyer, which is also why I believe God put me in my school's debating team. However, I am worried that I will be thrown out of the main school team, unless I make drastic improvements within a very limited period of time. I have been married, deviorced, gone thru a miscarage, 3 births and with the man who says he loves me but treats me as nothing...lower then that, yet thinks he is the best thing for me. I have tryed over and over again to get him out of my life but yet he sits there looking at me knowing I dont want him. I truly feel as if he finds enjoyment in my suffering. I have prayed over and over for Gods help and one day he did, we had a fight and he left. One month after our third child was born he just flew to another island for 6 months and I took this as an answered prayer. I know I am a strong woman everyone who knows me knows that, but I just constantly pray for god to keep me strong for my kids, and for someone out there to help me to find a way out. Urgent Prayer for a Family Category: Home and Family 3/9/2010 10:03 PM Please lift Kenny and his family up in prayer. They need deliverance. Kenny is in 3rd grade. The other day, Kenny stood up in class and started telling the other students to do obscene things to a particular part of his body. He then stuck his foot out in an attempt to trip his teacher and make him fall down. He was removed from the class and his mother was immediately contacted. His mother's response was to cuss out the school's principal and guidance counselor. Kenny was suspended for 5 days. Kenny returned to school on the 6th day and was immediately removed again because he raised his hand to strike the teacher. He was suspended again. During this time, Kenny and his siblings were removed from their mother by DCF because she was deemed unfit. They are very neglected. They have an odor and are quite thin. Kenny has been in all kinds of trouble like breaking into a local church and stealing from the corner store. Their mother does not work because she says she has an extensive criminal record and can not find work. Kenny and his siblings seem to be emotionally handicapped. The other students in the school are also suffering because of this. They cannot learn because Kenny and his siblings create many disturbances during instructional time. Please lift this family up in prayer. Pray that the scales of spiritual blindness will fall from the eyes of this mother and that she will repent and trust Jesus as lord and savior of her life. I am graduating this spring with a degree in school leadership (to be a school principal--I am currently a public school teacher) and he is a delivery man. If I were to receive a job as a school principal--we could afford a nice place to live...if not--because of the costs of repaying my student loan, daycare for our newly adopted little girl, etc.--we will have to move in with family that lives 45 minutes from our job... We are ashamed of our situation--and pray that God will help us to find the security we need to purchase our first home (we currently rent from a friend--but the 1,000.00 a month price tag is too much--additionally--my mom pays for our daycare--and we don't have to pay back my loans yet)...next year, if things did not change...we would have to move just to survive... To flee temptation, The fleeing is the hardest part. Temptation is everywhere you look. sometimes it's better to just be in the house. I have found that reading old testiment stories keep me strong. just read them like a book. if you can get just the story you want, do that. Many people can't read the bible, but if you do it this way. you will find yourself learning more. Focus on those stories. I have learned to only open my computer when i want to pay bills, or read my emails. then close it right away. do this and you will see that turning your head is powerful. i read a chapter in a book on sexual immorality and the first chapter said to turn your head, i believe it said do this for the 21 first times you see something tempting and your mind will do it automatically after that. it will be hard , but do it,it will work. The world of "modern" human philosophy gives me horrible anxiety with its doubts of Christianity. I am only 19 and everyday, for some reason, I think too deep into things and make myself believe that I will eventually go insane. Never have I been a very good student, up until about 3 weeks ago when I asked Christ for Wisdom. He has granted me this and since then I have changed my college major to philosophy, with the plan to connect the history of the world with biblical teachings and reveal Christ as King. The problem is it has no outside entrance facing the street. It opens into the ground floor landing of a residential building. As such, it is quite big and should have had a market as a warehouse. But that is not to be. Meanwhile, I've got a better place - one facing a busy thoroughfare and larger - to shift my business to. But without the requisite funds I cannot invest in the new place. This new place is maintained by my mother, who - though lively and active for her age - is over sixty and is a cardiac patient with arthritis related complaints. She is shouldering a lot of load in running the new establishment as well as the daily household chores. My wife too needs a surgery, that has been put on hold long enough. To meet these needs, it is important that I am able to sell the first-mentioned commercial place. I did find a couple of interested parties but they dithered and at the end stopped communicating with me, like not taking my calls, and thus indicated that they aren't interested. But time's ticking away, and I'm worried about the surgery. The new place, too, could definitely do with a generous dose of finance. Now I know you have your own way of doing things, but I get so restless these days by the apathy of people around me. And I have so little time in my hands . . . Due to the health problems we ran into financial problems. He is not a believer in Christ. I knew him growing up and we met up with each other last year again. It was love at first sight but then he told me that he doesn't believe in God. My heart was broken and I didn't know what to do. When we were growing up he would attend church with us and have converstaions about God all the time so I guess I just automatically thought that he was a believer. I guess I could have gotten out of the relationship before it got to serious but I stayed with him any way. Now I am deeply in love with him and look past his non-belief, which I know is wrong. I guess that I stayed with him because I thought that I would be the one to change his mind about Christ but so far I have tried but to no avail. He feels so strongly about what he believes (or doesn't believe) that I am getting weary. Not only do I want him to get saved for me but for himself. I want to see him in heaven one day and do not want him to have to endure the firey furnace of hell. I just pray that he will get saved before Jesus returns. Now we are talking about getting married and starting a family but I do not want my future kids to grow up thinking that there is no God. PLus the fact that we as Christians are not supposed to marry outside of Christianity. I just pray that the Lord will soften his heart and that he will become the wonderful man of God that I know and want him to be. The cancer is in 80 percent of her bladder and has spread to her lungs. She is undergoing chemo now for the next 3 months and it is going to make her very sick at times. She will lose her hair in about 6 weeks my dad says. If the doctors do not find improvement then they said there is nothing more to do. Her oncologist also told her that he would be surprised if she lived another 5 years, and that non medicinal forms of therapy work about as well as prayer. This doctor has no faith. My mother is a good Christian woman. There is no chance of saving her bladder. Lord, I pray that the chemotherapy will work and it will shrink the cancer. I pray that she can stay strong when she is sick. I pray that she knows that she is supported and we will support her through this whole ordeal. I pray that the natural treatments she is trying will have a positive effect on her. Lord she is too young to go.
